Basketball has been part of Hamish's life for more than ten years, from his earliest games with Hobart Phoenix through to being named the youngest player selected to the Hobart Chargers' 2026 NBL1 South squad. He's also played for Hobart Phoenix's Senior Men's Championship team and Guildford Young College's Division 1 program, and trains within Strive Basketball Australia's elite development pathway. At 6'5" he plays the wing with the size to finish above the rim and the ball skills to create for himself and others.
Scouting service Kevin Moses Scouting profiled Hamish as an electric athlete with explosive hops and a smooth, all-around scoring game. Last season he averaged over 20 points per game across U18 Champs, Senior Men's Shield, and U22 Championship play, earned MVP honors in both the U18 and Senior Men's Shield competitions, and was named a reserve to the Tasmanian State Team. He also competed for Strive Basketball Australia on their July USA tour.
He's a Class of 2027 prospect pursuing the traditional international student-athlete pathway to U.S. college basketball. Right now he's on the road in the United States, playing in front of college coaches at RecruitLook Hoops events in Nashville and the Chicago area.
